So here we go, taking out those windows and bringing the charm back to the Bungalow!
This was not a quick and easy job. The plaster is still on the wall and we had a TON more to do.
Removing all the plaster is a very messy job. We highly recommend taping up doorways and covering all air vents, you dont want dust and particles roaming your house.
This was taken after one window was knocked out, you can see the other still there. We had to stop the project because we found a lot of rotten wood from water damage. Rotten wood became my worst nightmare, it even trumped the red master bedroom.
There are the boards being replaced, no flashing no nothing. Our poor deck didn't stand a chance to our wet rainy winters down south.
My husband knocked out the plaster piece by piece to make this happen. We found roach droppings and tons of rotted wood, thank you old Bungalow owners for not weather proofing our deck...the water started from the deck and got into this wall. It turned out okay in the end only a few deck boards and some rot in the wall. However, the project took a lot longer than expected.
Talk about moveable traffic! This picture is taken from our backyard, as you can see i now have an array of doors to choose from when letting the dog out, headed to the kitchen, entertaining guests, or of course running from an intruder.
